Le Lavancher activities

Le Chapeau
The hike starts from the top of Le Lavancher, just above the Chalets Philippe. At the end of the walk, you'll find a refreshment stand with a magnificent view of the needles.

La Fête du Pain
This event brings together all of Chamonix around activities organised in each village of the valley. In Le Lavancher, the bread oven is fired for three days to bake bread for the big day.

Le Paradis des Praz
This easy hike starts below Le Lavancher, along the Arve river. It's a route leading to Chamonix, offering a leisure area.

The hike follows the Chapeau trail. A relatively easy walk leading to a waterfall with a stunning view of the valley. Along the way you can also stop at the climbing slabs (15 routes, 60 m height).

Activities we recommend
The usual advice is to take the Aiguille du Midi or visit the Montenvers to explore the Chamonix valley. Here we share more personal experiences that left a mark on us — less touristy but equally breathtaking.

Le Buet
The hike departs from the village of Buet, where you'll discover the charming Bérart waterfall with a refreshment stand. At the summit, a 360-degree panoramic view of the Mont Blanc massif, the Northern Alps and the Swiss Alps.

Refuge d'Albert 1er
The refuge is accessed via the Tour ski lifts, located on the Tour glacier plateau. It offers a 180-degree panoramic view of the Chardonnay, Argentière, Tour needles, and Mont-Blanc.

Lac Blanc
Ranked among the ten most beautiful places in France, this hike combines an exceptional panoramic view with a nature reserve where ibex and marmots can be spotted. Depart from Argentière or the Flégère lifts.

Barrage d'Émossons
At an altitude of 1950 metres, the site is accessible by car. It is also the starting point of a hike to the Émossons refuge, where dinosaur footprints can be seen.

Refuge du Nid d'Aigle
To reach the refuge, you can take the Mont-Blanc tramway. The descent runs along the Bonnassay glacier, opening onto a valley where horses roam freely in a magical landscape.
